500 Faces is an attempt to take portraits of five hundred people which began in January 2026 and will end in December 2027.

Each person taking part was asked to write (or dictate) up to 100 words about being alive today. This will form a future archive of our challenging times. All opinions are relevant. All people are relevant. Sexual orientation, skin colour, religion, nationality, disability do not matter.

The early results on this website will be added to weekly until the project is completed. The portraits and words appear together for each person. I am grateful to everyone who has taken part so far.
